In each of these fields the firm provides services ranging from preliminary investigations, conceptual design and feasibility studies, through detailed design, documentation and construction inspections.
Gandy and Roberts specialises in structures for buildings, including steelwork, masonry, pre-cast, reinforced and prestressed concrete, curtain walls, timber engineering, concrete repairs and tensile structures. It has a consistent record of success in large and complex structures and has demonstrated that it has the resources and ability to produce innovative and successful solutions to complex and challenging architectural and structural problems.
As the only large specialist structural engineering practice in Tasmania, Gandy and Roberts provides a level of service and depth of resources in that field that our peers cannot match.
The firm's civil engineering capabilities include all civil works associated with buildings (subdivisions, access roads, car parking, drainage and retaining walls) plus stand alone civil projects such as aquaculture facilities, municipal bridges, subdivisions and specialist studies. The scope of our work extends from planning, design and documentation through to construction supervision and contract administration. Recent projects have included WSUD (water sensitive urban design) features as part of ESD (environmentally sustainable development). Gandy and Roberts also offers water engineering services for developments and towns such as water source and supply planning, integrated water cycle management, assessments of flood risk, stormwater and sewer drainage. Within buildings, our hydraulic design services include hot and cold water supply, fire hydrants and hose reels, roof and sewer drainage including trade and greasy waste.
